The Tina and Rod Vegas Tribute Show is landing direct from Las Vegas at Silverstar with performances from 13 to 31 December.
“This is no ordinary tribute show, the act travels globally, ensuring that audiences get the same entertainment experience regardless of where they see the show,” says Silverstar’s Complex Events Manager, Matthew Cook.
The two impersonators, Cookie Watkins as Tina Turner and Rob Caudill as Rod Stewart, have an uncanny resemblance to the popular artists. “Looking at the billboards and posters we have to promote the show, it’s hard to tell the difference,” says Matthew.
In fact, both artists are often mistaken for the real stars. Cookie is known to perform the best Tina Turner tribute in the world and receives rave reviews wherever she performs while Rob was declared in Tutti Legends Rod Stewart edition magazine as the World’s Greatest Rod Stewart tribute artist. He also regularly gets stopped at airports for autographs.

Clik here to view.Rob Caudill started his music career after completing high school and studying music in Memphis, USA. It was here that he received his first major break and formed a band that got a record deal with legendary record company RCA records. However, this gig was short lived and Rob, with music running through his veins, then decided after all the comments about his resemblance to Rod Stewart that he would take up a career impersonating the legend on a full time basis. As it turns out this proved to be the right decision as he has been doing this for more than 15 years!
Joining Rob for the South African leg of the Tina and Rod Vegas Tribute show is Cookie Watkins. Cookie started her career as Cornetta Watkins. She has released three singles and has a regular spot as part of the rotating cast of Las Vegas’ Imperial Palace long-running feature show ‘Legends in Concert’. She remains in constant demand for her impersonation as pop icon Tina Turner.
Silverstar’s new developments have not affected the first class entertainment that it offers to its guests, its Steak restaurant; Black Cherry Coffee shop and Centre Star Buffet are still open for trading. “Traditionally Jozi is quiet during December and we hope that this show will not only be an attraction for residents of the West Rand, but all in Joburg who have fond memories of these great performers. This is also an opportunity to visit our corner of the West Rand which is closer than many think,” Matthew adds.
Performances are scheduled from 13 to 31December with shows starting at 8pm and matinee performances at 3pm on Sundays. Why not spoil yourself and partner with Silverstar’s Night Out for 2 package that includes drinks for two, a meal at Steak restaurant for two, R100 freeplay for two and free parking for only R290.00 per couple – this is a saving of R230.00.
