For the 350 children of the Akani Centre in Diepsloot, 6 December was a day to remember as Montecasino treated them to a fun-filled Christmas party complete with face-painters, balloon sculptors, jugglers and jumping castles.
As part of parent company Tsogo Sun’s strategic corporate social investment (CSI) policy, staff members in each Montecasino department, from the General Manager’s office, to Finance, IT, Property Management and Marketing pledged their support to this local Diespsloot school earlier this year, each department taking a number of classes, and children, under their wing and visiting them regularly to assist where needed. The Christmas party is an extension of this initiative.
“Most of the children at the Akani Centre are underprivileged and it gave our staff great pleasure to give them an experience to bring a smile to their faces and some desperately needed Christmas cheer to their year,” says Glenn Joseph, General Manager of Montecasino.
