The two suspects were interrupted by police when they attempted to break into a house at Senorita Street. They fled the scene and left a blue Mercedes Benz. Inside the vehicle, police found house-breaking equipment.

Manhunt for two suspects launched

It is believed that the suspects went into a house nearby at Johan Straus Street and jumped an electric fence. They then robbed the family of a BMW at gun point. As they were driving out of the premises, they fired several shots, and a shootout with the owner of the house ensued.

Police responded within few minutes but the suspects had already fled. It is believed they used a BMW as a getaway vehicle after they had left a stolen vehicle at the first house.

On further investigation police established that a Mercedes Benz left at the scene, was stolen in Laudium on November 19, this year.

A BMW has not yet been found but police are following several leads and a breakthrough may be made very soon.  Fortunately no one was injured at both houses.

Police are also appealing to anyone who might have information about the whereabouts of the suspects to contact Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or information may anonymously be forwarded to Primedia Crime line via sms to 32211 at all hours.
