Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the N1 Western Bypass about one kilometre before the Gordon Road off-ramp in Florida North this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a light delivery vehicle had rear-ended a heavy goods vehicle.
“Five people were found to be in a serious condition and after they were all treated, they were transported to hospital for further medical care”, said Santi Steinmann of Netcare 911.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
