Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie might soon be renting a mansion in Johannesburg’s super-elite suburb of Sandhurst in Sandton.
While there’s no clarity on when the A-list couple will touch down in South Africa, according to Beeld newspaper, the R85,000-a-month pad will be rented for eight months while Pitt films a movie in the country.
Channel24 reported that the power pair were expected to bring their children along.
According to Louis Green, property expert from Pam Golding Properties, the rental price the Pitts are expected to pay is a bargain.
“That’s cheap,” said Green. “We have rental property that is way over that, at about R150,000-a-month.”
Green said the rental amount is usually based on five percent of the value of the house.
Green said it would appear that Pitt and Jolie were renting a house on the “lower” scale of what Sandhurst has to offer.
eNCA found several homes valued at between R25-million to R45-million. Said Green: “I would say the entry level house [which is] not in a great position [and which is] not a great house would come in at about R15-million.”
He said the truly masterful mansions were valued at around R100-million.
