Puppy with one eye
This puppy from Diepsloot Township, was bitten by another dog SOME TIME before Four Paws found him. The eye was badly damaged and infected and their vet had no choice but to remove the eye.
Fortunately he is recovering well and he is a happy little dog again.
PLEASE HELP FOUR PAWS WITH HIS MEDICAL BILLS! They have huge outstanding medical bills and are really battling to pay them.
Brutal feral killings
A few years ago Four Paws sterilized a feral colony who lives in a cemetery in the West Rand. They were being fed by a kind lady and lived quite happily there, until recently when she found some of the cats being brutally killed, with pieces of them lying around like the tail in the picture below.
Four Paws are not sure if this was caused by humans or dogs in the area, but are now in the process of trapping the remaining cats and taking them to their shelter where they will be safe.
Cat with elastic around tail
A lady in Olivedale contacted Four Paws for help with a mommy cat and her 4 kittens that arrived in her garden. She could not keep them as her dogs are not used to cats.
For some bizarre reason, the one poor kitten had an elastic tied to his tail, very tightly, leaving a permanent scar! The kitten must have been in such agony for so long! He is such a loving, sweet little baby and they were fortunate enough to find him a very special home.
Four Paws have run out of soft food for the dogs, cats and kittens in their care. If you can help donate some wet food, please let us know.
