A child and an adult were among several commuters injured in a single-taxi collision on the Soweto Highway in Nasrec, Johannesburg South on Saturday morning.
“ER24 treated four patients two of which were adults that sustained minor injuries. The third patient, an adult male, suffered serious head trauma whereas the child, approximately 5-years-old, sustained moderate injuries”, said Luyanda Majija of ER24.
These patients were transported to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. The other injured commuters were treated and transported by other emergency personnel.
The collision appears to have occurred after the taxi driver apparently lost control of the taxi and overturned.
The detailed circumstances leading to the collision are under investigation.
