Joburg Ballet’s own golden boy, RamiroSamón, brings the top prize back to Johannesburg as senior classical ballet winner at this year’s prestigious South African International Ballet Competition (SAIBC) held in Cape Town, February 2014. Mr Samón will dazzle audiences with his shining performance in the lead male role in classical ballet’s great comedy, Coppélia, at Joburg Theatre opening 7 March through to 23 March.
Mr Samón shares the stage with other Joburg Ballet stars in the principal casting for Joburg’s own ballet company. Sharing the winner’s podium with Samón at the SAIBC and featuring as principal dancer in Joburg Ballet’sCoppélia is silver medallist Javier Monier whose award winning talent promises to deliver sterling performances for Joburg audiences.
