A 58-year-old man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle collision in Wedela, Carltonville yesterday evening.
“Responding ER24 paramedics along with other emergency personnel used jaws-of-life equipment to free the trapped man and two other occupants from the wrecked vehicle”, said Luyanda Majija of ER24.
The 58-year-old had a few broken ribs and suspected internal injuries.
The two men he was travelling with were moderately injured and mainly had lacerations on their heads.
The patients were transported to Cartonville Hospital for further medical care.
It is unclear how the collision occurred but evidence on the vehicle shows that it overturned a few times on the wet road.
Local authorities are investigating further.
