A Celebration of horses and hounds at Dick Fourie Stadium in Vereeniging from 7am until 5pm on the 1 May 2014! The annual fundraiser will feature a full day of jumping classes for the horses organised by Brett Webber, from Carpe Carpe-Diem Riding Centre.
SPCA Vereeniging have spruced up their Hound section and they have 5 great classes where our dogs can compete for some amazing prizes. The Classes are: Fancy Dress, Mutt of the day, Happiest Dog – Small breed, Happiest Dog Medium Breed, Happiest Dog – Large Breed so prepare yourselves!
In between all of this they also have a star studded line up of entertainment featured for the day. Red Ark Studio’s have sponsored us an amazing stage and sound so our artists will be looking phenomenal for all to see and sounding great!
The presenters for the day is the well-known Robin Leask and Johan Herbst a Mr SA finalist and some of the artists confirmed for the day are: Monna-Lee, Jolandi Ford, Aven Fall, Celeste Groenewald, Dance Revolution, Andre van Wyngaardt, Leroi, Xander Beswick, Ashley, Gideon, Riana Mouton, Centre Stage Dance Studio, Sticky Fingers, Danel Maartens, Andre Martinez, Zurilda, Morne van der Sandt, Leandri Lombaard, Emanuel Pietersen, Linda Kilian, Fazz and the Firecrackers, Cloete, Maddy and Boots & Hats.
The day starts off with the customary 4km walk through the scenic 3 Rivers and here they charge an entry fee of R10 per person/dog walking.
There is no entry fee to the venue – everybody is welcome. All dogs that have an SPCA tag on their collar on the day will be getting a special prize. These tags can be bought at the SPCA for R25 per tag. Keeping your dog identified at all times makes their job easier – please consider buying a tag.
The aim of the day is to raise funds for Vereeniging SPCA to assist all the abused and neglected animals in the community.
You are welcome to bring your camping chairs, blankets, granny and all your dogs. Come and join them for a great family day – family including the 4 footed one’s.
They have limited stall space available for those that are interested. As it is a SPCA fundraiser and they are doing the catering they cannot allow any food or drinks stalls, any other charity stalls or any stalls that be in direct contravention of their rules.
