Pierneef Road near Pieter Wenning Road in Witkoppen Extension 3 developed a big sinkhole -1 x 1 metre and 1 metre deep. It was very dangerous as it is a busy route with parents transporting children from Fourways Gardens to Dainfern College and there are currently no street lights (due to widening of William Nicol).
Madeleine Bruckmann of Douglasdale CPF Sector 3 contacted Reuben Malima from JMPD who assists in CPF.
“Reuben contacted the Johannesburg Roads Agency in Midrand. He assured us that they will come during the night (which they did before 9pm) to put barriers up for the motorist to see that there was a problem. Next day they came promptly back and fixed the street”, said Madeleine.
“A great hurray and thank you to Reuben JMPD and JRA for averting a possible accident and injuries”, added Madeleine.
