Johannesburg Central Sector Police arrested a 31-year-old male for impersonating police at corner Jeppe and Von Weilligh Street on March 25, 2014 at 3pm.
It is alleged that two suspects stopped a 29-year-old male and asked for his passport; one of the suspects produced a fake police identification card.
They refused to allow the victim to see the appointment card clearly; he became suspicious and stopped a police vehicle that was passing by.
One of the suspects managed to run away and his accomplice was apprehended.
The suspect is charged for impersonating police and is appearing today in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.
