A man accidentally shot his seven-year-old son in the chest at HuntEx 2014 – a gun exhibition at Gallagher Estate in Midrand on Monday April 28, 2014.
It is alleged that the father and son went to the toilet and the father’s gun accidentally went off, shooting the boy in the chest.
The child was taken to Carstenhof Hospital in a critical condition for urgent medical treatment.
Police spokesperson Constable Matomi Tlamela said no arrest had been made. “Police are busy investigating a case of negligent handling of a firearm,” she added.
