Four suspects are detained for questioning at Hercules Police Station following three burglaries that were committed at a smallholding on Wednesday, 07 May 2014 in the early morning hours between 3am and 4am
It is alleged that the victims were asleep in their respective bedrooms when about five suspects armed with a firearm stormed into their bedrooms and robbed them of their belongings such as cell phones, cash and wallets.
The first victim was asleep with his girlfriend when he was attacked and robbed of his Blackberry cell phone. The second victim was asleep with his wife when he was robbed of three cell phones, R300 cash and bank cards.
The third victim was robbed of his cell phone, a flat screen TV and his wallet containing his Identity document and bankcard.
The investigations continue.
Meanwhile two suspects were arrested for rape in separate incidents; a 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his wife. The incident occurred at Sabrix, 17 March 2014 and in the second incident a 20-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman who was sleeping in his uncle’s car.
The suspect attempted to flee from the scene when the uncle approached but the suspect was subsequently arrested. The incident took place on May 3, 2014 in Mahem at about 4.15pm. The investigations continue.
