Three firearms, two Norinco’s and a CZ75 with rounds were recovered by Soshanguve K9 members with the help of Sunnyside Cluster Trio Task Team.
The incident happened on 12 May 2014 at Theto Street in Mamelodi, Nelmapius Extension. Sergeant Len Willemse and Warrant Officer Marcus Lekola were following information which led them to the recovery of a black A4 Audi worth an estimated R135 000 with Ermerlo case number, electric equipments with an estimate of R45 000, which are suspected to be from the house robbery that happened in Menlyn, Mr Price and Sheet Street items, nine (9) new pairs of running shoes estimated at R20 000.
The K9 Unit appreciate the help of the Sunnyside Cluster Team, Warrant Officer Maharela, Constable Ramasodi (Brooklyn Police Station) and Constable De Klerk (Gaarsfontein Police Station). Through joined efforts they managed and ensured that the two children aged 10 and 7 who were found in the house were taken to a home of safety. Members are hoping to make an arrest soon, investigations continue.
