Gauteng Police recovered six firearms, 564 live rounds of ammunitions and a hijacked BMW 320i during a bust in a house in Tsutsumani village in Alexandra Township yesterday morning, November 27, 2013.

Members of JHB Flying Squad together with Crime Intelligence members from the Alexandra Cluster also recovered a stolen Plasma television, an ID document and bank cards. The members were following up on information on a house robbery from Brackendowns which led them to a house in the village in Alexander.

Inside the premises, members found a BMW 320i parked, they checked it and could positively link it to a Sandton house robbery case. They then went inside the house and found an ID document and bank cards. In further searching the house, they found several firearms ranging from a .22 pistol to a 9mm, several boxes of ammunitions hidden under a mattress. One of the firearms was linked to a house robbery case in Wierdabrug, Centurion earlier this month.

All firearms will be sent for ballistic testing and to determine their use in other crimes. No arrests were made and police investigations are continuing.
