Johannesburg Central Police arrested a 26-year-old suspect for attempted common robbery at corner Miriam Makeba and Bree Street on November 26, 2013 at 4pm.
It is alleged that two suspects attempted to rob a 30-year-old male prosecutor. The victim was driving his white Ford Fiesta when he stopped at the red traffic light. Suddenly he was approached by two males; one came towards his passenger door while his accomplice came to a driver’s door. Prosecutor’s window was half opened; suspect demanded his cell phone and threatened to shoot him.
Victim got out of his car and chased a suspect; he ran away but he was apprehended by the prosecutor. Police who were not far away came and took the suspect to Johannesburg Central cells; investigations are continuing.
The suspect is charged with attempted common robbery and will appear soon in Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.
