Yesterday Sandton SPCA received a frantic call from someone who had run over what they thought was a crocodile in Jukskei Park. Their inspectorate team along with the JMPD raced to the scene to find a seriously injured Monitor Lizzard.
The man who had run over the Lizzard was sitting with it on the side of the road trying his best to comfort the poor creature in its last moments. The Lizzard passed on shortly after our inspector arrived on the scene.
Please friends do try and be careful when driving, although we do understand it cannot always be avoided, please make an effort to make sure any animal that crosses your path is able to make it to safety unhurt.
