Gauteng police are offering a reward of up to R50 000 for any information that could lead to the arrest and successful conviction of the suspects who dragged a four year old boy in Reiger Park on Saturday night. The little boy was found dead and still strapped in a car seat belt in Market Street, Boksburg.

The mother of the boy was visiting family when the hijacking occurred on Saturday night at Daisy Street in Reiger Park. The suspects forced the family out of the car however; the boy was still strapped in the seatbelt outside the car. The suspects drove off with the child still strapped and drove towards Boksburg. The suspects abandoned the vehicle in Boksburg and the child was dead.

Also in another incident where a five-year old boy is still missing after a car he was travelling in with his father was hijacked in Bronkhorstspruit last week, police are offering a reward of up to R50 000 for any information that could lead to the recovery of the boy and the arrest of the hijackers.

Four suspects approached the father as he was in his car at an intersection when they tied him up at gunpoint and drove off with the two. The father was dropped at De Dry and the suspects sped off with the little boy.

Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Lesetja Mothiba said a Task Team consisting of members from the Provincial Office and the Station under the leadership of Major General Tebello Mosikili has been established to investigate both incidents.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forward. People can contact the police Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or sms Crime Line at 32211.
