Marlene Naiker, proud resident of Sandton, Johannesburg won the 2nd princess title at the Mrs India SA pageant on Woman’s Day, Saturday 9th August 2014, held at Sibaya Casino and Resort. Marlene is happily married with a son aged 7. She has an Honours degree in psychology from Wits and is currently a People Lead at KPMG. She competed against 9 other national finalists.
The competition included a pre-judging interview, Eastern, Western and talent segment. She was sponsored by Johannesburg businesses Curry n All (Rivonia Road, Sandton) and 15 on 7th, a new medical spa in Parktown being launched by Dr Mark Steinmann in September. She was lucky enough to be styled by Tresemme Brand Ambassador, Matthew Mansoor with Eastern wear sponsored by Zyda Creations, from Roshnee (on Instagram).
She believes her strengths to lie in her ability to balance work and life responsibilities with immense passion and drive and without forgetting about contributing to her extended family and community.
“I am proudly South African with Indian heritage and believe that my strengths lie in embracing the best of both worlds, without alienating anyone”. Marlene hopes to further her contribution to community by becoming more involved in projects focussed on young women and children.
