I-store robbed at Centurion mall

The i-store at Centurion Mall, south of Pretoria, has been robbed of goods worth more than R4 million in the third hit on an i-store in Gauteng in less than a month.

 

Four men allegedly entered the store pretending to be customers, before holding up the staff with a firearm. “Police have launched a manhunt for a group of about four suspects following an armed robbery at an i-store in Centurion. They took iPhones, laptops and tablets worth over four million rands,” says police spokesperson, Khensani Magoai.

 

Magoai says one of the guards at the mall gave chase but the gang started shooting at him. He was, however, not harmed. “Police are also appealing to anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the nearest police station,” says Magoai.

Earlier this month, i-stores at Cresta Shopping Centre in northwest Johannesburg and at The Glen in the south of the city were robbed Police are investigating whether there is a link between the robberies.
