Crack members of the SAPS Crime Intelligence and Tactical response teams swooped on several locations and arrested four members of a gang believed to be part of those operating in recent Mall robberies such as the robbery at Northgate Mall.
The suspects are believed to be behind the recent armed robbery that took place at the Cell C shop in Northgate and intensive investigations are continuing. The suspects were taken by surprise, no shots were fired and no injuries reported.
The Police also seized three AK 47 assault rifles, a pistol and a large amount of live ammunition for these weapons in the possession of the suspects. It is a fantastic achievement to be able to take such weaponry out of circulation and to deny them to criminal elements.
