Police have made a breakthrough in arresting a 40 year old suspect linked to the murder of Lawrence Moepi who was killed in the parking lot of his auditing firm in Houghton on October 18, 2013. The suspect who was arrested in Soweto on Saturday morning appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court today on charges of murder.
“A breakthrough came following a tireless investigation by the Provincial investigation team who are also following several leads to arrest the second suspect”, said Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini.
Moepi was allegedly followed into the parking lot of his the auditing firm, Sizwe Ntsaluba Gobodo, and fatally shot whilst he was getting out of his sedan. The suspects fled the scene in a VW sedan. An investigation is continuing to establish the motive for the killing.
