Forty-four suspects were arrested by JHB Central Sector Policing members for various offences during crime combating operations that were conducted from Friday February 28, 2014 and ended on the morning of March 3, 2014. Suspects were arrested around Johannesburg Central CBD.
Among the suspects who were arrested during the operations; seven suspects were arrested for armed robbery, five for common robbery, two for house breaking, one for rape, two for attempted murder and eight for shoplifting.
The rest of the suspects were arrested for committing other crimes ranging from; assault common, assault GBH, malicious damage to property, fraud, drunk and driving.
Most of the suspects are appearing today in Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.
