Robbery suspect sentenced to 12 years imprisonment

The suspect Tshepho Abdul was recently sentenced to twelve years imprisonment by the Randburg magistrate court for robbery and being in possession of robbed items.

It is alleged that on September 20, 2012 at approximately 5.45pm the police were on patrol when they noticed a complainant waving hands for them on Hill Street in Ferndale, Randburg.  They approached the complainant whom she alleged that she had been robbed.

The complainant pointed to the suspect who was running away.  The police Constable Lebogang Matlala and Constable Lekgora Bopape run after the suspect who went through the bushes in the stream valley and hide away.

The complainant gave the description and the two constables searched him and found him hidden in the bushes.  He was found in the possession of the complainant’s properties which were cell phone, clothing cards, driver’s license and the knife used to threaten the complainant.

The suspect was arrested and went to through court proceedings till he was recently sentenced to twelve years imprisonment.
