Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the R24 in Bedfordview last night.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two men were in a critical condition after two heavy goods vehicle were involved in a rear-end collision.
“The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift one of the men to hospital while the second injured man was rushed to hospital for the urgent medical care that they required”, said Santi Steinmann of Netcare 911.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
