At Trinityhouse Pre-Primary Little Falls we learn through play.

During a child’s pre-school years imaginative play opens a child’s mind to glorious possibilities.Fantasy and imaginative play are building blocks of children’s intellectual and creative ability. “It interlinks reality and fantasy where a child learns tovisualise a goal, and or perhaps think about how they could have approached different scenario’s in a particular situation. It also teaches them to ask questions, explore their environments and form friendships”, says Lynn van Jaarsveld, Principal for Trinityhouse Pre-Primary Little Falls.

The ability to use our imaginations and suspend reality feeds into enjoyment of creative thinking and assist children with building their characters. “This week’s lesson of imaginative play have created great fun with pretending cooks, dressing up and role playing. As a child’s daily routine is more structured and scheduled, parents can support their children’s imaginative play knowing that much will be learned and gained”, says Lynn.
