The manger of an Olivedale restaurant was brutally killed in armed robbery last night, Saturday July 26, 2014 by six armed robbers who shot and killed him before fleeing with undisclosed items.
It is all alleged that just before 9pm the manager locked up the Wok Inn restaurant at the Olivedale Corner Shopping Centre when the armed men approached forcing him and his Mom into the Pizza Perfect takeaway next door.
They shot the manager at close proximity in the chest and in the abdomen and fled the scene.
A staff member from Pizza Perfect was pistol whipped on the head and was taken to Olivedale Clinic privately. One other staff member was hit and thrown to the ground and another was dragged by her ponytail.
EMER-G-MED paramedics arrived on scene within minutes of the shooting but tragically the victim had already succumbed due to the severity of his injuries.
Police Officers from Douglasdale and Honeydew SAPS and various security companies all attended to the scene. A case of murder and armed robbery has been opened and police investigations are underway.

This morning residents of Sharonlea and Olivedale as well as shop owners at the Olivedale Corner Shopping Centre placed flowers and messages outside the Wok Inn!
