In the early hours of Saturday morning, November 30th 2013, EMER-G-MED’s Intensive Care Ambulance (I01), which was returning to base from a Inter-facility transfer, witnessed a vehicle lose control – resulting in it rolling multiple times and crashing into a tree – on the N1 South in the Buccleuch interchange.
The ambulance crew and the flight doctor (who had been involved with the inter-facility transfer) quickly assessed the scene, finding that only the driver had been involved in the collision and, despite all the damage to his vehicle, fortunately sustained only minor injuries.
The crew called in for further assistance and EMER-G-MED’s V01 and A01 responded.
The patient was treated on scene before being transported to Sunninghill Hospital by A01.
