About an hour ago reports of a hijacked building in Johannesburg CBD, where criminals were chased into was set alight by residents.
One tweet said: ‘The police are helpless. More petrol bombs have been thrown into the building.’
Residents are throwing petrol bombs into the building and the criminals are throwing objects out at the people below.
Residents are still preparing more petrol bombs and are blocking the Fire Department from getting to the building. They want it to burn!
Police have fired rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse crowds.
