Douglasdale SAPS and JMPD have continued their focus on traffic violations and in and around the Fourways precinct over the last two weeks with substantial numbers of vehicles being stopped and checked for licenses, roadworthiness, passenger carrying permits and taxi route adherence.
Douglasdale Community Policing Forum members have joined in the road blocks to greet and explain to members of the public what the Police are doing and to re assure the public that the policing services are out there to serve and protect.
Hundreds of vehicles have been stopped and checked and motorists are urged to check that their fines have been paid up to date, that their vehicle and drivers licenses are current and that they obey the rules of the road.
Drinking and driving as well as reckless driving will be dealt with severely and road rage will not be tolerated.
The operations are set to intensify and will run 24/7.
